Title:
ZINC SECONDARY BATTERY
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2019/077952
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A gap allowing zinc dendrite growth between a negative electrode and a layered double hydroxide (LDH) separator has been minimized and, as a result, a zinc secondary battery (in particular a laminated battery thereof) is provided that is capable of more effective prevention of zinc dendrite extension. This zinc secondary battery comprises: a battery element (a) that includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode structure including a negative electrode active material layer, an LDH separator, and an electrolyte, said positive electrode and negative electrode active material layer being separated from each other by the LDH separator therebetween, said negative electrode active material layer including at least one selected from the group consisting of zinc, zinc oxide, a zinc alloy, and a zinc compound, and said LDH separator including a porous base material made from a polymer material and an LDH that covers the holes of the porous base material so as to provide hydroxide ion conductivity and gas impermeability; and a pressurizing means (b) that pressurizes the battery element in a direction that brings the negative electrode structure and the LDH separator in close contact with each other.
