Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide zirconium boride which can produce a large amount of heat upon the combustion in the presence of a compound having radical, e.g., a perchloric salt, can combust within a short time and has high substance stability. In order to provide the zirconium boride, the amount of lattice-defect-derived radical, which is detected by ESR measurement of zirconium boride, is adjusted to 0.1 × 10^15 spin/mg or more.
