Abstract:
$g(v)-Bromoalkylbenzenes reduced having a small content of positional isomer and a process for preparing the same characterized by bringing a bromoalkylbenzene mixture comprising an $g(v)-bromoalkylbenzene and an ($g(v)-1)-bromoalkylbenzene into contact with an acid and then separating the $g(v)-bromoalkylbenzene therefrom. The above compounds are useful as intermediates for medicines and, for example, 4-bromobutylbenzene is an important intermediate for the synthesis of the compound represented by formula (5) and used as a remedy for asthma.
