Abstract:
To provide a toner having a residue monomer reduced in the toner at high production efficiency while suppressing the adhesion of a toner precursor to a centrifuge in the concentration step and damage to the toner precursor.SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing a toner comprises: the granulation step of forming polymerizable monomer composition particles including a polymerizable monomer in an aqueous medium; the polymerization step of obtaining a toner precursor by polymerizing the polymerizable monomer included in the polymerizable monomer composition particles using at least two or more kinds of polymerization initiators; and the concentration step of increasing the solid content rate of the toner precursor in the aqueous medium. A first polymerization initiator in the polymerization initiators has a 10 hour half-life temperature of 70.0°C or more and 115.0°C or less; a second polymerization initiator has a 10 hour half-life temperature of 45.0°C or more and 65.0°C or less; the added amount of the second polymerization initiator is 2.5 mol% or more and 20.0 mol% or less to the polymerizable monomer; and the concentration step uses a centrifuge.SELECTED DRAWING: None
