Abstract:
To provide a method of efficiently obtaining high purity scandium oxide from a solution containing scandium.SOLUTION: A manufacturing method of high purity scandium oxide according to present invention includes steps of: first firing S12 for applying an oxalation treatment with oxalic acid to a solution containing scandium and firing the obtained crystal of scandium oxalate at a temperature of 400°C or higher and 800°C or lower; dissolving S13 for obtaining a solution by dissolving a scandium compound obtained by firing in sulfuric acid; extracting S14 for extracting impurity elements by contacting the solution and an extraction agent; oxalation treatment S15 for generating scandium oxalate by applying oxalation treatment by adding oxalic acid to an extraction residue; and second firing S15 for obtaining scandium oxide by firing scandium oxalate.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
