Abstract:
To provide a waste toner storage container that can accurately detect the amount of waste toner in the waste toner storage container regardless of the storage state of the waste toner, and an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: A waste toner storage container according to an embodiment of the present invention has a container main body, a toner storage chamber, and a paddle. The toner storage chamber has an introduction port, a toner storage space, and a near-full detection space. The introduction port receives waste toner. The toner storage space stores the introduced waste toner and extends in a first direction. The near-full detection space is arranged at an end in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction of the toner storage space. The paddle has a shaft, a first plate, and a second plate. The shaft is arranged in the toner storage space, extends along the first direction, and is long-sized. The first plate is formed on an outer peripheral surface around the central axis of the shaft and conveys the waste toner in the first direction. The second plate is formed on the outer peripheral surface of the shaft and conveys the waste toner toward the near-full detection space.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
