To manufacture and sell an inexpensive music box that includes a variety of musical pieces in a small scale location such as a retail outlet in which sales of the music box is performed, and to surely protect composition and the copyright of the musical pieces etc., and to easily perform production work (composition and arrangement etc.) of works, such as musical pieces for the music box.

In the music box manufacturing apparatus 100, in order to manufacture and sell the music box, data for expressing the music box music piece is obtained, by downloading from a music box sales system via network, each time there is a need for manufacturing and selling. According to a rule provided beforehand, the position of a needle to be planted in a cylinder of the musical box is calculated, based on the obtained data, and the data which is calculated, based on the rule, is converted to the rule for operating a manufacturing machine part, and the needle is planted by operating the manufacturing machine part based on the converted rule.
