Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extend the service life of a manuscript reading part while suppressing the cost increase, and accurately detect forgetting of taking out the manuscript.SOLUTION: An image reading device includes: a control unit 100 which causes a manuscript reading part 5 to read a manuscript placed on platen glass, measures the time from the completion of a job, and causes the manuscript reading part 5 to perform simple scan of the platen glass when the predetermined set time elapses; and a warning control unit 104 which performs a warning of notifying of forgetting of taking out the manuscript when it is determined that the manuscript is placed on the platen glass on the basis of the image data obtained by reading of the simple scan by the manuscript reading part 5. The control unit 100 causes the manuscript reading part 5 to perform the simple scan for manuscript detection only when the predetermined set period elapses from the start of measurement of the time.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
