Abstract:
To provide a method for manufacturing conductive electrode materials that enhances the productivity of conductive electrode materials, and at the same time enables diversification of electrode shapes and characteristics by integrating pre-synthesized bulk abrasive boron-doped diamonds.SOLUTION: [1] A polycrystalline diamond electrode material contains a diamond aggregate in which individual diamond particles that are conductive and exhibit remarkable grain boundaries are interconnected, and small volume voids existing between the particles, and has a constant conductivity as a whole. [2] A method of manufacturing the polycrystalline diamond electrode material includes: arranging transition metal powders between conductive bulk diamond particles; subjecting the whole to pressure heat treatment to convert a transition metal that is in contact with the diamond particles into charcoal and join the diamond particles via the charcoal; and dissolving/removing the transition metal powders remaining between the diamond particles to form a void conductive between the particles.SELECTED DRAWING: None
