Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve processing efficiency and reduce the load on a central processing unit by dividing a relation to be operated and by performing data base processing arithmetic such as projection arithmetic including the exclusion of an overlap tupple as to every division part. CONSTITUTION:A data base machine consists of a data input device 16 which inputs data from an auxiliary storage medium to a buffer, relation operator 18 which performs relation arithmetic for the data in the buffer, data output device 20 which outputs the relation arithmetic result from the buffer to the central processing unit, three buffers 22, 24, and 26, and controller 28. A tupple group of relation is divided into plural groups, and data input, projection arithmetic, and data output for every group are carried out. Those processes are performed in parallel by using the buffers 22, 24, and 26.
