Abstract:
A method for dyeing and redyeing the hair which comprises the dyeing step of forming
inside the hair an oxidation dye polymer which is made from a specific oxidation
dye and has specific properties and the redyeing step of treating the resulting
hair with a hair-redyeing composition which contains an oxidizing agent and
exhibits a pH exceeding 9.6 in application to conduct at least the decomposition
of the polymer. According to the method, a satisfactory hair-dyeing power can
be exerted in the first hair dyeing, and the hair dyed by the first hair dyeing can
be satisfactorily redyed in a bright color or bleached by decomposing the dark-colored
oxidation dye polymer formed inside the hair from the oxidation hair dye without
conducting the removal of hair dye with a dye-removing agent.
