NEW MATERIAL: A compd. represented by formula I or II [wherein R0 is a 1-4C alkyl, an alkoxy, OH or a halogen, R2 and R3 are each H, a 1-4C alkyl, a 3-6C alkenyl, a cycloalkyl or benzyl, R1 is H, a 1-8C alkyl, a 3-7C cycloalkyl or phenyl, Z forms a 5-8-membered heterocycle along with C, N and intermeidate C and, at this time, secondary heteroatoms of N, O and S may be present and A is groups represented by formulae III, IV (one of R11-R13 is H or a 1-6C alkyl and the other two of them are each H or a 1-4C alkyl)].
EXAMPLE: N-Methyl, N-[(5-methyl-1H-imidazol-4-yl)methyl]-4-methyl-5,6-dihydro-4 H-pyrrolo[3,2,1-ij]quinoline-1-carboxamide.HCl.
USE: An antagonist against 5-hydroxytriptamine.
PROCESS: Compds. represented by formulae V, VI and a compd. represented by formula VII are reacted.
