Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an acrylic polymer which shows excellent transparency, antiweatherability, formability, shock resistance, resistance to stress whitening, resistance to warm water whitening, thermal stability and the like and is useful for manufacture of formed products such as a film, etc., and a laminated composite.
SOLUTION: The acrylic multi-layer granular composite having a 3 layer structure comprises an innermost layer of a hard polymer (a) obtained by polymerizing of monomers comprised of 80-98.99 wt.% of MMA, 1-20 wt.% of alkylacrylate(AA) having 1-8 carbon atoms in an alkyl group, 0.01-1 wt.% of a polyfunctional grafting agent and 0-0.5 wt.% of a polyfunctional crosslinking agent, a soft layer of a polymer (b) obtained by polymerizing of monomers comprised of 70-99.5 wt.% of AA having 1-8 carbon atoms in an alkyl group, 0-30 wt.% of MMA, 0.5-5 wt.% of a polyfunctional grafting agent and 0-5 wt.% of a polyfunctional crosslinking agent in the presence of the polymer (a) and an outermost layer of a hard polymer (c) having a glass transition temperature of not less than 80°C obtained by polymerizing of monomers comprised of 90-99 wt.% of MMA and 10-1 wt.% of AA in the presence of particles of the polymers (a) and (b). An average diameter of the particles is 0.01-0.3 μm and its melt flow rate at 230°C and under a load of 3.8 kg is 0.5-20 g/10 min.
