PURPOSE: To keep an air bag module always at a neutral attitude by supporting a steering shaft in a constant tilt angle for a car body, and installing a steering wheel in relatively tilt adjustable manner for the steering shaft.
CONSTITUTION: As for a steering device 1 in which a column bracket 6 in a rear edge part is supported by a supporting member 12 and installed in forward inclined state, an air bag module 7 is installed at the near center of a steering wheel 2 fixed at the rear edge of a steering shaft 3. Further, a spherical joint inner part 21 is formed at the part covered with the column bracket 6 of the steering shaft 3, and a spherical shell shaped joint outer part 24 is formed so as to cover the joint inner part 21, and steel balls 26 are interposed between a plurality of guide grooves which are formed on the opposed surfaces and extended in the longitudinal direction, and a tilt adjusting mechanism 20 is constituted. The joint outer part 24 fixes the steering wheel 2 through a sleeve member 23.
