Abstract:

To provide a safe and high performance binder selectively removing ions from the bodies only with a small medicine quantity and increasing patient compliance properties.

An anion-binding polymer preferably bonding with the target anion and characterized by at least two of the following items is provided. The characters are (a) swelling rate is less than 5, (b) the part having usable nonreactive solute having a molecular weight of about two times or more of that of the target anion is less than about 20% of the gel weight (wherein, the percentage is measured in a physiological medium), and (c) the ion bonding interference rate to the target anion in the gastrointestinal simulated liquid compared with a non-interacting buffer solution is less than about 60%.
