Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for forming a U-shaped conductor, by which the time needed for taking out a formed product after forming it can be shortened.
SOLUTION: This apparatus for forming the U-shaped conductor comprises a holding part 20, a feed part 30, a core part 40 and a forming part 50. The core part 40 comprises a core 42 forming a die, and an upper guide 44 for preventing the conductor 10 from moving upwardly during the forming operation. The forming part 50 comprises a forming tool 52 for pressing the conductor 10 along the core 42 to form the conductor in U-shape, and a lower guide 54 for preventing the conductor from moving downwardly during the forming operation. After the conductor 10 is formed in U-shape, the forming tool 52 can be moved downwardly, and the conductor 10 can be fed without returning this forming tool 52 to the original position.
