A voltage measurement apparatus for measuring the voltage of the battery cell of a battery cell unit having a plurality of battery cells connected in series includes a capacitor with variable capacity to be charged in parallel connection with the battery cell to be measured, a switch circuit for switching over the connection between the capacitor and the battery cell, a voltage measuring means charged by the battery cell to be measured for measuring the voltage of the capacitor separated from the battery cell, and a means for changing the capacity of the capacitor depending on predefined conditions.
