Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the subject stable and hard gel having improved chemical and cosmetic stability, comprising a combination of hydrophilic and hydrophobic aerosol silica gelling agents, a polyethylene glycol moisturizing agent, nonionic surfactant and others. CONSTITUTION: This gel as a stable water-based hydrogen peroxide dental gel, having pH 3-6 (pref. pH 4.5-5), comprises (A) 1.5-3.5wt.% hydrogen peroxide as a single chemical activator, (B) a combination of hydrophilic and hydrophobic aerosol silica gelling agents (pref. 8-10wt.% hydrophilic silica plus 0.5-1.5wt.% hydrophobic silica), (C) 20-40wt.% of a polyethylene glycol moisturizing agent 200-1,000 in average molecular weight, (D) 0.5-5wt.% of a nonionic surfactant, pref. a 10-18C fatty acid-bearing sorbitol polyoxyethylene monoester, (E) 0.2-1wt.% of a sweetener such as sodium saccharin, (F) 0.35-5wt.% sodium benzoate, and (G) a perfume.
