Title:
AUTOMATED APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR CONSOLIDATING PRODUCTS FOR PACKAGING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3830988
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To transfer a flow of products to a packaging station with a random change in the flow due to removal of out-of-specification contact lenses by placing a consolidation buffer between an automatic lens inspection system and the packaging station.
CONSTITUTION: Defective or out-of-specification products 20b, 20c, 20d are selectively discharged by a handling robot 200 from an inspection carrier 10b transferred from an automatic inspection system in a direction of an arrow A and removed by a conveyer belt 14. Then remaining products are mounted on a consolidation buffer 230 by the robotic device 200, and a pair of pneumatic followers are advanced to bring the products close together for consolidating. Then a robotic device 300 including an array 302 having ten suction-holding means is used to mount a product group 20f onto a support pallet 410 mounted on a packaging index turn table 400, and the product group is packaged after inspected as a product unit 20g.
