To provide a compact auxiliary machine for harvesting crops such as root vegetable, leaf vegetable, or the like, which reduces a harvesting operation load and secures harvesting qualities for broad kinds of crops.
The auxiliary machine for harvesting crops is equipped with right and left drive wheels 2 and 2 that are ahead of an engine 5, bestride a ridge A and travel in a field, right and left auxiliary wheels 3 and 3 behind the engine 5, soilers 7 that are between the drive wheels 2 and 2 and the auxiliary wheels 3 and 3 below the engine 5, have lower end parts lower than a ground contact surface of the drive wheels 2 and 2, or the like, and loosen the ridge A and a foliage cutting device 12 ahead of the soilers 7. Since the lower end parts of the soilers 7 are positioned lower than the ground contact surface, the ridge A is surely loosened from the under sides of crops even in a field in which the vertical height of the ridge A is low. Since the drive wheels 2 and 2 are positioned on the front side of a machine, the machine is prevented from being obstructed in advance and stopped to improve operation efficiency. The compactification of the auxiliary machine is achieved by arranging the soilers 7 between the drive wheels 2 and 2 and the auxiliary wheels 3 and 3 and the engine 5.
