Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new heat-resistant xylanase producible at low cost through a process at high temperatures to effect obviating any cooling equipment or enabling cooling water to be saved and diminishing the possibility of microbial contamination as well, to provide a method for producing the xylanase, to provide uses thereof, to provide a heat-resistant xylanase gene, and to provide a microorganism capable of producing the xylanase.
SOLUTION: The subject bleaching agent contains, as active ingredient(s), xylanase XP1 having a molecular weight of about 22,500, isoelectric point of about 8.1 and optimum reaction temperature of 70°C and/or xylanase XP2 having a molecular weight of about 32,000, isoelectric point of about 8.5 and optimum reaction temperature of 80°C. The other objective method for bleaching pulp by using the bleaching agent is provided.
