Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brake mechanism of a wire reel in a reinforcement binding machine capable of smoothly feeding a wire at all times, without expanding a diameter of the wire, by preventing the coasting rotations of the wire reel.SOLUTION: A brake mechanism of a wire reel in a reinforcement binding machine includes: brake means 30 capable of engaging with an engaging portion 21 of a wire reel 20; drive means 32 for driving the brake means 30 after feeding a wire W from the wire reel 20 by predetermined length; and a shaft 34 connected with the brake means 30 at one end, and connected with the drive means 32 at the other end. The drive means 32 and the wire reel 20 are partitioned by a cover 17, and the cover 17 is provided with an opening portion 41 making the shaft 34 penetrate therethrough. The opening portion 41 is provided with a part disposed so as to cover the periphery of the shaft 34 and make the shaft 34 slide.
