Abstract:
PURPOSE:To easily and economically obtain a cam shaft excellent in abrasion resistance by steppedly grinding the surfaces so that only the surface of the melted section may become a sliding surface. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a cam piece 3 is remelted leaving both the end sections 5 as they are. The surface of the remelted section 4 and the surface of not-remelted section are steppedly ground with a stepped grind wheel 6 so that only the surface of the remelted section 4 may become a sliding surface. Since this constitution eliminates grinding before remelting, a cam shaft excellent in abrasion resistance can be easily and economically manufactured.
