To provide an inexpensive transfer device which can be incorperated even in a comparatively small equipment such as a press and the like, and can carry a work with high accuracy in position.

When a driving member 64 is advanced to the left direction by a rotary cam mechanism 68 in a state that each work 3O is held up and brought up at a work receiving position by holding pawls 48 and 50 disposed at a slide member 20, the slide member 20 and the holding pawls 48 and 50 are integrally moved by a feeding stroke L1 together with the driving member 64. Since the further movement of the slide member 20 is checked by a stopper 24, when the driving member 64 is furthermore moved to the left direction, the holding pawls 48 and 50 are lowered down by the actions of a cam follower 60 and a cam groove 62a, and concurrently, each work 30 is separated from a center line S so as to be released therefrom. After that, when the driving member 64 is returned back to a retreating end as shown by the figure, another work 30 is newly held by the holding pawls 48 and 50 at the work receiving position.
