PURPOSE: To inhibit the opening/closing of a light shielding cover for a film, when a data writing bag is not fitted, not for exposing the film even if a photographer tries to load the film in a state where the data writing bag is not fitted.

CONSTITUTION: This camera is constituted of a camera body 1, a photographic lens unit 2 and the data writing bag 3. A BCPU 11 in the camera body 1 can communicate with an LCPU 31 and a BKCPU 41 by communication line groups L1, L2, L11 and L21, a discriminating line L3, communication contact groups 101, 102, I11 and 121, contacts 103 and 104 and an electrical contact groups 122 and 123. The BCPU 11 is connected to the opening/closing knob 17 and cartridge spool 18 of a film cartridge 16, a shutter unit 20 and a switch 21 for detecting the completion of the loading of the cartridge 16 via driver circuits 12 and 13 and driving mechanisms 14 and 15.
