PURPOSE: To increase the compressed volume of a rotary compressor used for air- cooler, by providing a capacity controller which employes a gas intake pipe having a diameter and a length suitably selected to enlarge variations of intake gas pressure pulsation so as to raise intake gas pressure.
CONSTITUTION: A supercharging intake pipe 104 has such a diameter and a length that the inherent value of the air columnar oscillation substantially corresponds to revolutions of a compressor 101. The connection of the supercharging intake pipe 104, in stead of a normal intake pipe 106 to the compressor 101 increases pulsation in intake gas pressure so that intake gas is sucked into the compressor 101 through an intake port upon the maximum pulsation pressure. As the capacity control is of volume increasing type, the compressor can have a specified capacity of the highest perpormance rate, thereby to provide small size compressors.
