Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide the new antibiotic effective against various kinds of strains including Pseudomonas aeruginosa, excellent in the safety and stable also for hydroxylases such as dehydropeptitase.
CONSTITUTION: A compound of formula I (R1 is alkyl, hydroxyalkyl which may have a protecting group; R1 is H, alkyl; R3 is carboxyl which may be esterified; R4 is amino-protecting group, H, alkyl; R5 is cyclic amino having a substituent), e.g. (1R,5R,6S,8R,2'S,4'S)-2-(2-((3R)-3-aminopyrrolidin-1-ylcarbonyl) pyrrolidine-4-yl)thio-6-(1-hydroxyethyl)-1-methylcarbapenem-3-carboxylic acid. The exampled compound of formula II is obtained by the pathway of the reaction formulae using (2S,4R)-4-hydroxypurine as a staring raw material.
