PURPOSE: To obtain the certification photograph photographing device by which correct diaphragm control (or color balance adjustment) is executed.

CONSTITUTION: The device is constituted of a camera 1 having an automatic diaphragm adjusting function, a sensor 3 for detecting presence and absence of a person 2 to be photographed and a background plate 4 is which a specific color (a color chart 4a of white or gray color) is arranged in a position hidden on the back of the person 2 to be photographed, seen from the camera 1. In such a state, by a signal outputted from the sensor 3, diaphragm adjustment and color balance adjustment are executed incessantly, while the person 2 to be photographed is not in a photographing position, and when the person 2 to be photographed arrives at the photographing position, photographing is executed.
