Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a spiral bevel gear chamfering method capable of reducing an installation cost by way of simplifying structure of a spiral bevel gear machining device.
CONSTITUTION: A face milling cutter 50 provided with a blade 58 on its peripheral part is installed on a tool main spindle 40, and on the center of the tool main spindle 40, a chamfering tool 52 is attached. Gear cutting is carried out by relative movement of the blade 58 and a work 26, and chamfering is carried out by motion of the chamfering tool 52 in the axial direction and rotary motion of the work 26. At the time of gear cutting, the work 26 and the chamfering tool 52 do not interfere with each other, and at the time of chamfering, the work 26 and the blade 58 do not interfere with each other. Consequently, it is possible to hold both of the face milling cutter 50 and the chamfering tool 52 on the tool main spindle 40, and a holding device furnished with a special moving means of a chamfering tool is eliminated.
