PURPOSE: To prolong the life of the circular blade for a steel sheet trimmer consisting of a tool steel as a base material by subjecting a high hard TiC-TiN coating film to coating treatment.
CONSTITUTION: This circular blade for the steel sheet trimmer is formed with a film consisting of TiC and TiN and contg. 20 to 90wt.% TiC. Since this circular blade is highly resistant to wear and peeling, the circular blade withstands long-term use. The circular blade is capable of shearing the steel sheet to the surface shape approximate to a target shape and, therefore, the quality of the steel sheet is improved and further, the improvement in productivity by decreased frequencies of the exchange of the circular blade and the decrease in operation load are resulted.
