Abstract:
To provide a binder to enable liquid crystal capsules to be used for display elements, in particular, a binder having small influence on electro-optical properties, a high voltage holding ratio, and high water resistance.SOLUTION: Provided herein are: a coating liquid comprising liquid crystal capsules, each consisting of a liquid crystal composition covered with a resin, and an aqueous solution containing at least one acrylamide monomer; and a functional film produced by coating, drying, and irradiating the coating liquid with UV light or the like.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
