Abstract:

To provide such a coating material for sliding use as capable of displaying the wear resistance while maintaining a low friction coefficient of conventional fluororesins and without damaging an opposite material, and also to provide a coating method thereof.

The coating material for sliding use contains 1-90 wt.% of a modified fluororesin which has been modified by irradiating to a fluororesin an ionizing radiation in an irradiation dose of 1 kGy-10 MGy in an oxygen concentration of 100 torr or lower and at a temperature of the melting point or higher.
