In a coil conductive wire 1 for a rotary electric machine, a conductive covering member 16 covers the periphery of a stranded wire aggregate formed by bundling a plurality of stranded wires which are insulated and covered, respectively. In the covering member 16 of a slot interior portion 28 arranged in a slot 5 of a stator 3 of the rotary electric machine out of the coil conductive wire 1, spiral shaped slits 32 are formed. On the other hand, in the covering member 16 of coil end portions 26 and 30 which are arranged outside the slot 5 of the stator 3 and constitute the coil ends, the spiral shaped slits are not formed.
