Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a liq. crystal display reduced in dependence on the angle of vision, capable of high-quality picture display and suitable to a large screen display.
CONSTITUTION: A liq. crystal is held between the transparent substrates 1 and 2 on which picture element electrodes 3 and 4 are formed, and a polarizing layer 6 is formed on both sides of the substrate to constitute a liq. crystal display. A plane formed by applying a transparent resin on a transparent substrate and rubbing the resin or a color polarizing filter 7 formed by applying red, green, blue and black colors separately on the surface of a uniaxially oriented film is provided instead of the polarizing layer of at least one transparent substrate to constitute the liq. crystal display.
