To provide a communication device and a communication method by which proper transmission power control can be executed for each transmission frequency on the transmission side so that the reception side can receive a signal of flat frequency characteristics over the entire communication band in the communication device for executing frequency hopping by using a wideband transmission path.
The communication device has a hopping pattern generator (108) for generating a hopping pattern, a frequency synthesizer (110) which generates a hopping frequency in accordance with the hopping pattern generated by the hopping pattern generator (108), and a level convertor (102) which executes the level conversion of a transmission signal after spread modulation at a level corresponding to the hopping frequency in synchronization with the switching of the hopping frequency in accordance with the hopping pattern.
