Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a composite material composed of a flexible chain polymer and a metal phthalocyanine exhibiting various functions and having its ring plane oriented in a specific direction and to obtain an electroconductive material produced by doping the composite material with iodine.

CONSTITUTION: This composite material having an orientation index (outer/intra plane) of the ring plane of a metal phthalocyanine exceeding 1.0 is produced by uniaxially drawing (or stretching) a formed article of a mixture of a metal phthalocyanine and a flexible chain polymer. The electroconductive material is produced by doping the composite material with iodine. Since the ring plane of the metal phthalocyanine is oriented perpendicular to the drawing direction, an excellent electroconductivity represented by a specific conductance of 1013 to 10-4S.cm-1 can be attained by doping iodine to the composite material. The material free from the doping treatment can be used as a non-linear optical material, a photoconductive material, a chemical reaction catalyst, a deodorant, etc.
