PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control the capacity in plural stages while reducing a consumptive energy in a double rotor type compressor, by installing a power saving means comprising a shut-off valve and a check valve, on a communicating passage for communicating a compressing space in one of the compressing elements and an inlet space of the other compressing element.
SOLUTION: A compressing mechanism 61 of a compressor 5 comprises a pair of upper and lower cylinders 69, 70, a pair of upper and lower cylinder chambers 73, 75, and a pair of upper and lower rotors 77, 79. A power saving mechanism 82 is installed in such manner that it communicates the both cylinder chambers 73, 75, and comprises a valve hole 83 vertically penetrated through an outer peripheral part of the cylinders 69, 70 and an intermediate plate 71, a pair of upper and lower piston valves 85, 86 slidably held by the valve holes 83, and a valve spring 87 for energizing the piston valves 85, 86 in the directions separating from each other, as the main components. A check valve 90 is mounted in a communicating hole 88 of the cylinder 69, so that the fluid is passed through only from the valve hole 83 side to the cylinder chamber 73 side.
