Abstract:
PURPOSE: To elongate the life and improve the reliability of a connected portion by convering an optical fiber core including the abutting ends of the optical fiber with a reinforcing material of the same quality and size and by melting and connecting the reinforced core with a core covering material to form a core cover which is merged into the outer periphery of the connected portion.
