Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easy-to-fit connector assembly and its fitting method, capable of connector fitting with a low insertion force and preventing a half- fitting.
SOLUTION: A connector assembly 1 is provided with an almost tubular locking frame 30 which is fixed to a through hole 41 of a car body panel 40, a first connector 10 which is fitted into an opening end of the locking frame 30 on one side, and a second connector 20 which is fitted into an opening end of the locking frame 30 at the other side. A first cam groove 36 is spirally extended along a center axis of the locking frame 30 in a continuous manner with the opening end of a tubular part 31 at one side, and a second cam groove 39 is spirally extended in the same torsional direction as that of the first cam groove 36 in a continuous manner with the opening end of the tubular part 31 at the other side. The grooves 36, 39 are provided in a pair at regular intervals around the center axis of the connector assembly 1. The first and second connectors 10, 20 are provided with bosses 14, 24 which are engaged vertically with the first and the second cam grooves 36, 39 respectively.
