A connector to be connected to a cable having a plurality of signal lines having a signal conductor and drain lines comprises a plurality of contacts to be connected to signal conductors; a holding member holding the plurality of contacts; and a shell at least partially covering the holding member. The signal conductors are connected to the contacts by a connection process in the predetermined direction. The connector is provided with an end housing portion penetrating the holding member in the predetermined direction. The shell has a drain line fixing portion exposed in the end housing portion, and the drain lines are fixed to the drain line fixing portion in the end housing portion.
