PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce waste of packing materials and costs for delivery of ordered articles to customers by delivering articles to be taken by customers, without requiring packaging of the articles before shipping of them.SOLUTION: Customers order articles via an e-commerce website and designate a consolidating station as their delivery destination. All of the ordered articles are selected from a transportation management facility without requiring packaging for shipping of the articles before transportation from the transportation management facility and are transported to the consolidating station and are put in a safe storage section and are allowed to be taken by the customers. When the articles are put in the storage section in the designated consolidating station, the customers receive messages indicating that they can take the ordered articles. The customers go to the consolidating station and authenticate themselves by input of codes included in the messages or other methods. Then, the safe storage section is opened to allow the customers to take out the articles, thus ordering is completed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
