Abstract:
To stably cast a high-quality cast slab over a long period of time.
The flow of molten steel 6 is stabilized over a long period of time by reducing a flow speed of a spouting flow 8 spouted from an immersion nozzle 4, and by reducing temporal fluctuations of the flow speed by imparting a DC magnetic field with an almost constant value within the range from ≥ 0.01 tesla to ≤ 0.1 tesla in the horizontal cross-sectional direction of a mold 2 by arranging a DC magnetic field generator 4 downward from an electromagnetic stirring device 3 while securing the stirring flow speed required for preventing occurrence of bubble-state defects and inclusion-state defects inside a steel slab.
