PURPOSE: To obtain a loading function added counter circuit capable of stably and quickly executing counting operation even when any value is set up as a load value.
CONSTITUTION: The loading function added counter circuit is constituted of multidigit connection of three or more counter circuits 1-1 to 1-N capable of starting counting from an optional value by inputting a count start value synchronously with a load signal and executing counting synchronously with an input clock. The circuit detects whether the load value of a lower digit counter circuit 1 is a full count value or not by inputting the count start signal synchronously with the load signal. The circuit is provided with plural load value monitoring circuits 2-i (i is an optional integer satisfying 3≤i≤N) each of which delays the load signal by one clock and outputs the delayed signal when the load value is a full count value and OR computing elements 3-i each of which inputs an output from the circuit 2-i and a carry output from the counter circuit 1-(i-1) and outputs their OR result to the ET terminal of the counter circuit 1-i.
