To obtain the subject composition containing ferrocene, its derivative, etc., excellent in handling workability before the curing of the composition, capable of being cured to form a cured product excellent in heat resistance, and useful as a sealing agent, etc.
This curable organopolysiloxane composition comprises (A) 100 pts.wt. of an organopolysiloxane having at least two lower alkenyl groups bound to silicon atoms in the molecule, (B) an organopolysiloxane having at least two hydrogen atoms bound to silicon atoms in the molecule in such an amount that the hydrogen atoms bound to the silicon atoms in the component B is 0.1-20 moles per mole of the lower alkenyl groups bound to the silicon atoms in the component A, (C) 0.001-20 pts.wt. of ferrocene or its derivative, and (D) a catalyst for a hydrosilylation reaction in an amount sufficient for curing the composition. At least one of the silicon atom-bound groups in the component A is preferably a perfluoroalkyl group.
