Abstract:

To improve surface properties of a cylinder head of a reciprocating piston internal combustion engine.

A metal worked part of the cylinder head 2 of the reciprocating piston internal combustion engine is coated by employing a micro arc oxidation treatment. Ranges (gas exchange valves 7, 7', valve guides 8, 8', valve seat rings 9, 9') coated by employing the micro arc oxidation treatment are provided in the cylinder head 2 of the reciprocating piston internal combustion engine.
