Abstract:

To provide an improved device and a method to more precisely calibrate a suspension control module of an automobile regardless of tire pressure in a range of preselection tolerance of pre-decided ride height.

A device 12 has a first device 24 to measure a first distance in correspondence with actual ride height of an automobile 10 and to generate a signal to express it, a second device to measure a second distance between spring upper mass and spring lower mass of the automobile and to generate a second signal to express it and a processor 28 operatively connected to the first and second means to compute deflection between the signals by comparing the first and second signals with each other. The processor memorizes deflection in a suspension control module by generating a third signal to correspond with deflection. Centering mechanisms 18, 22 position the automobile before calibration of the control module so as to vertically conforming it above a first measuring device 24. Calibration is adjusted for an over/under chute of a suspension device.
