Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cheap hand-cranked diameter adjustable reamer for the repair of an engine valve seat, etc. with excellent user-friendliness, which has common usability for a discrete valve seat different in size or shape and also can easily/speedily/surely conduct such a displacement operation as fitting assembling positions of a cutting tool in a valve seat size.
SOLUTION: In the reamer, a conical rotor 6 provided with a spiral groove 5 on its conical surface is idly fitted inside a hollow cone shaped casing 1 radially formed with a plurality of strips of slits 2 on its cone wall, a tool holder 3 inserted into each slit allows a projection 7 on its base end side idly fitted in the spiral groove 5 and mounts the cutting tool 4 on its tip end projected from the slit. Further for allowing the displacement of the tool holder along the slit, it is provided with a rotating means 30 forward/counter-rotating the conical rotor 6 around a cone axis, a tool fixing means fixing the tool holder to an arbitrary shift position, and a cutting handle 20 rotating the casing around its own cone axis.
