To provide a discharging method capable of maximally obtaining a merit from the difference between a daytime power rate and nighttime power rate, and capable of operating a power storage device and correcting variations of cell output voltage at the same time, and furthermore capable of maintaining the operation of the power storage device in a state of an excellent SOC accuracy.
A discharging method comprises: a ratio reduction process for reducing a ratio of present charging amount to a charging capacity of a storage battery by discharging the storage battery and supplying power to a load; and a charging process for charging the storage battery, after the ratio reduction process, by the power supplied from a power system. At the ratio reduction process, the ratio is made to become closer to a lower limit ratio provided as the lower limit of the ratio for the discharging before the charging process is started. The ratio of the storage battery can be reduced by making the output voltage of the storage battery closer to a usage lower limit voltage VL of the storage battery.
