Abstract:

To provide a disk drive device capable of maintaining the satisfactory rigidity of a fluid dynamic pressure bearing unit even if a drive current is reduced and performing reading/writing stably even at an environment causing vibration frequently.

This disk drive device includes a rotary body, the fluid dynamic pressure bearing unit for supporting the rotary body rotatably, and a drive unit. The fluid dynamic pressure bearing unit has a lubricant holding part for holding a lubricant 28, a first thrust dynamic pressure groove 46 constituting a first thrust dynamic pressure generating part for generating dynamic pressure in the direction of pump-in toward the inside of the lubricant holding part, and second thrust dynamic pressure grooves 48a, 48b constituting a second thrust dynamic pressure generating part for generating at least dynamic pressure in the direction of pump-out. The first thrust dynamic pressure generating part and the second thrust dynamic pressure generating part have characteristics for generating dynamic pressure for making the total sum of changes of dynamic pressure in the direction of pump-out exceed the total sum of changes of dynamic pressure in the direction of pump-in when the rotary body becomes eccentric into the direction of a rotary shaft from a state that it floats in the lubricant 28.
