Abstract:
To provide an energy-saving type yankee cylinder, having a suitable hardness for home use paper, excellent in abrasion resistance against doctoring, easily peeling off dried paper, without concentrating stress or heat stress to the joint parts of a shell with panels and having a reduced total weight.
This drying device for papermaking is characterized by installing a yankee cylinder having a cylindrical shell prepared by using cast iron, and panels prepared by using steel and installed at the both ends of the shell. The cast iron is characterized by having a composition of components (shown by mass %) as C: 2.8-3.2, Si: 1.2-2.8, Mn: 0.8-2.2, Cr: 0.2-0.8, Ni; 1.0-3.0, Mo: 0.2-0.8 and the rest of Fe and inevitable impurities.
